	DCC Hosts the Opening of WGC 2009 Gaming season is officially open. After the success of the Dubai World Game Championship last year, the organizers are once again gearing up for another season of gaming competition as the season opens in heart of Dubai hosted by Deira City Centre on July 10 – 11, 2009. The games will showcase six Digital games – Counter Strike, Warcraft, Guitar Hero, Virtual Tennis, Street Fighter and Pro Evolution Soccer, and three Arcade Games – American High Striker, Sega Rally and Deal or No Deal.
The tournament will be conducting eliminations in UAE, Bahrain and Oman from July to September as the search for the best gamers continues. The finalists will all meet up at Dubai World Game Expo at the Dubai World Trade Centre this coming October 27-29, 2009. According to Eng. Anas Al Madani, Vice President of Index Holding, the organizers of the biggest games competition said “It is a privilege for us to organize the next sequel of this exciting event, where we expect young athletes show their gaming styles, intensive strategic wit and evident teamwork in one place as they battle with the best players in the region. Gaming has never been so upbeat and this exhilarating.” As part of the tournament, Emirati gamers for Counter Strike, Warcraft and Guitar Hero will get a chance to represent the flag at the prestigious World Cyber Games to be held at Chengdu, China. More than AED 100,000 worth of prizes is up for grabs and a chance for UAE nationals to represent the country in the upcoming World Cyber Games in Chengdu, China.
